Welcome! My name is Joonho (pronounced the same as Juneau, the capital of Alaska). I am a Ph.D. candidate in Technology and Operations at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. I am advised by Professors Roman Kapuscinski and John Silberholz.

Motivated by a multidisciplinary background, my research centers on developing mathematical models to understand/monitor/control dynamic systems at the intersection of operations, marketing, and engineering. Recently, I have been interested in energy markets and sustainable storage/battery operations.

I have several working experiences that shaped my lifetime goals. I co-founded and led a start-up for blind masseurs (ChamSonGil Cooperative), which recently opened its 12th branch in South Korea. I also worked at SK Telecom for over a year as a full-time marketer, managing more than 40 retail stores in Seoul, South Korea.

Before coming to Michigan, I earned my B.S. in Statistics and Financial Economics from Seoul National University (SNU) in 2016 and my M.S. in Industrial & Systems Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 2019.

You can find my CV here.
